Ford has discontinued the production of Fiesta, Classic and Figo in India owing to poor sales and lack of novelty factor. Ford want to shed its image as one product wonder by lining up several launches in quick succession. Ever since Ford entered India, its sales are driven by single products. Earlier it was Fiesta classic, later on it was Figo and now it is Ecosport.

Ford India plans to refresh its product line up in domestic market by replacing Fiesta classic with New Figo Aspire and Figo hatch with new generation Figo hatchback. New Fiesta doesn’t have any replacement in the Indian market in the near future.
The Ford Fiesta recorded sales of 29, 25, 22 & 14 units in April, May, June & July respectively in this financial year. Although Ford launched a facelift version of Fiesta sedan, it didn’t helped much to attract customers.
Ford has witnessed a growth of 22.4% by selling 8,331 units in August 2015 compared to 6,801 units same month last year. The growth can be attributed to the launch of New Figo Aspire. It is expected to launch 3 more models in the near future : Next gen Figo hatchback, Mustang & New Endeavour.
