Toyota, world’s second largest auto maker is looking to update the Etios Cross in the future. Etios Cross took the crossover concept to a next level by differentiating it with the base model, unlike the Cross Polo. It is now looking for an update to counter the competitor, the segment leader of Crossovers, i20 Active.
Etios Cross used to sell well before the launch of i20 Active. But with the launch of i20 Active, it is struggling to find customers. The main reason being, Etios Cross just has visual changes (both exterior & interior) with the base model, Etios Liva. Where as i20 Active also has increased ground clearance other than visual changes. The other reason for getting beaten by i20 Active is the lack of features.
To overcome these problems, the main considerations Toyota is planning for Etios Cross Dynamique are increased ground clearance, advanced features like touch screen infotainment system AVN. Recently, Hyundai launched i20 Active with Touch screen AVN System
Toyota Etios Cross Dynamique will continue to be be powered by 1.2 L Petrol engine and 1.4 L diesel engine. The 1.2 L Petrol generates 80 bhp of power and the 1.4L diesel produces 68 bhp.
Toyota is likely to launch Etios Cross Dynamique by the end of this year or early 2016. Toyota is also planning a slew of products for India. This includes next Gen. Fortuner & Innova, Innova Cross ( current Innova with extra body claddings & some other changes), Vios (Honda City competitor)
