Creta has been a very successful product with over 54,000 bookings from its launch with waiting period of 6 months for MT and 10 month for AT. Even with high waiting periods, the demand has continued to remain the same. Hyundai has raised the price of this compact SUV, Creta by Rs 25,000. This price hike is effective immediately and for all Creta variants.
In addition to the price hike of Creta, Hyundai has also increased the price of Elite i20 by Rs 9,000 for its entire range. Elite i20 is a very successful product from the last year with so many prestigious awards like Indian car of the year 2014. It is maintaining an average sales of 11,000 per month from its launch. Hyundai has recently updated the Elite i20 with touch screen infotainment system without passing on the costs to customers, so this price hike seems like a fair move from Hyundai.
It is expected that Hyundai has taken this move as these models were not a part of previous price hike. Almost all major OEM’s are planning to increase the prices at the end of the year.
