Exterior Styling :
The concept was designed at the Hyundai Namyang design centre in Korea. Hyundai Carlino concept HND-14 looks quite different from regular Hyundai designs. It is a departure from their regular fluidic styling. It looks quite boxy and muscular. On the front we see the swept back headlamps but different from regular Hyundai types. The hexagonal grille is similar to what we see in other models. The hood is flat which gives the SUV complete different style. On the sides it gets a huge glasshouse and a sudden kink at the rear door which looks attractive. Rear looks quite simple and conventional. Tail lamps remind us of the ones in Xcent and Grand i10. Overall the Styling gives an impression that Hyundai took some design cues from Kia this time. The silhouette of the concept slightly look like Kia soul. We need to wait until the showcase of production-spec to see how far this concept design is carried forward to it.
Interior and Features :
The Interiors are not shown in this concept and Hyundai have not yet mentioned about the features of this SUV too.
Engines and Transmission:
The engines are expected to be carried over from Hyundai Elite i20. 1.2L petrol engine and 1.4L diesel engine are expected. However, we feel that 1.4L petrol will be offered instead of 1.2L petrol.
1.2L Petrol : 83 PS power and 11.7 kgm of Torque
1.4L Petrol : 107 PS power and 13.8 kgm of Torque
1.6L Diesel : 123 PS power and 15.8 kgm of Torque
Petrol engine will be available with 5-speed Manual transmission. Diesel engine is expected to come with 5-speed manual and 4-speed Automatic transmissions.
