Renault Kwid’s success run continues in India as the hatchback has received over 1.25 Lakh bookings in the country till date. The Kwid has created a remarkable buzz in sales charts of hatchbacks in the last few months. The company is nearing its target of 5 percent market share in India. In addition, Renault is eyeing to add 60 sales outlets to its current tally by the end of 2016 in the country.
Sumit Sawhney, CEO and managing director of the company said that Renault India will be adding 60 more outlets to its current 210, by the end of the year. “We had hoped to raise our market share to 5% by the end of 2017. But given the growth rate, we may be able achieve it by the end of this year,” he said. The company also introduced a new initiative, called workshop on wheels, which is a a comprehensive door step service facility. Renault is planning to setup 30 ‘workshop on wheels’ facilities in India by the end of 2016, at least one in each state. Just so you know, two new variants of the Kwid – 1.0L and AMT – would be launched in India in coming months to further accentuate the appeal and versatility of the hatch.
