Sources say that launch of Tata Hexa will be delayed. The main reason for this is that the company is worried about the ongoing diesel ban in NCR and kerala region. Although the ban in Kerala is kept on stay, NCR ban is still going on.
Recently there is a proposal from the Government that the diesel vehicles will be levied extra environment cess for their registration in future. Tata Hexa is powered by 2,179cc Direct Injection VGT diesel engine. Now this vehicle falls under the ban category as it is more than 2L capacity. Removal of ban and introducing cess also doesn’t help Tata as the vehicle will be more costlier and customers mayn’t accept the offer.
So the company haven’t yet decided about the official launch of the vehicle. Tata Hexa is normally planned to launch during the festive season of this year. So now the company might wait still the government shows clear direction regarding this diesel ban issue.
